The game will be played from a third-person perspective, and it is an action-adventure game. The player controls the criminal Tommy Vercetti and completes missions - linear scenarios with set objectives - to advance the story. There may be multiple missions available at once, as some missions require the player to wait for further instructions or events. Outside of missions, players are free to roam the game's open world and have the ability to complete optional side quests.
